Says Morris Minor Born 1948 but i have seen 1949 model series MM Tourer and Series MM - If it Make 1948 , what are the Models of 1948 to 1949 - If you have pic Please give me - because i collect pic of them - Many Thanks

Hi Sandun,

According to Ray Newell's book "Original Morris Minor" production started in October 1948, but only 1120 two door saloons and 52 tourers were produced that year. His list of chassis numbers only starts on 1 January 1949, so it looks like none were registered in 1948. If any were, they would still have been Series MM.

Here's a photo of my Dad with his mother's tourer - I don't know the age of the car exactly, but it doesn't have a passenger side wiper and I think it was maroon, so it is definitely before November 1950 and probably before September 1950.
