Hi all, iv just purchased another morris minor pick up (1971) to restore but was not given log book. so i am going to apply for it but i cant find a chassis number can any one tell me where it is hidden? :cry:

Should be very obvious on a plate on the bulkhead in the engine compartment, but that's often missing - my newest one doesn't have one either. People tell me it's also marked into the metal around where the choke cable comes through, often beneath layers of paint - I've never seen it there, but I've necver looked very hard.

Correct.. if you haven't got the proper plate then the number is
stamped on the bulkhead just to the right of the bonnet pull rod.
The number at the top right of the bulkhead is NOT the chassis
number.

But if you have the registration number and a bill of sale from the last owner - that should be enough to get a V5 issued. That will then tell you the chassis number and you can get a new plate made up.
