Hello everyone, yeah brake topic again! So new to me 67 traveller, poor brakes & pulls to the right on braking. No leaks. I've adjusted all wheels & have a pull to the right, do I need to adjust the left front?
2nd I'm going to get new mintex shoes front & back, seeing as a lot of you rate them, rear drums don't look that good, fronts not so bad, would I be ok to fit new shoes to the old drums & if not a lot better, poss new drums later or would I mess up the new shoes? The car has had some brake work done, (new adjusters & a couple of new cylinders) Can't really afford fr disc conversion, but am I wasting money fitting new shoes & poss drums on the front?
Thanks for imput & advice

Re: Brakes"not that old chestnut"
Sounds like you've got one or more sticking cylinders on the left. Check they're all free - it sounds like you might need to replace some more than the ones that have already been replaced. Presumably the shoes you've got in at the moment aren't contaminated with oil or similar?
I wouldn't replace drums unless the existing ones are absolutely past it - there seem to be some quality issues with some of the new ones, so you're better off sticking with the old ones assuming they're serviceable. New shoes will be fine with them.

Thanks for that, I'll check the left front wheel
Re: Brakes"not that old chestnut"
As above - sort out the cylinders, nothing to do with adjustment, before worrying about new shoes -and stay with the old drums unless they are badly scored. Some new drums have their 'problems' shall I say.

Thanks, stuck left front cylinder, new one on its way!
Re: Brakes"not that old chestnut"
Hopefully you ordered a 'genuine' cylinder -the cheaper ones are hopeless.
