Does anyone know if there is a difference between a midget 1100 head/ valves/ springs vs a Morris Minor 1098head?
I have a customer with a Midget head that I have been quoted for by a machine shop for unleaded work, but notice that Minor exchange heads are much cheaper that that quote. Thanks in advance.
1098 mm head vs mg midget 1100 head.

Check the casting number on the head against the chart below for detailed specifications.[frame]

The 12G295 head is the head to use on a small bore engine. Much better porting and valves/springs than the 12G202 fitted to the 1098cc Minor.
If you do fit a 12G202 instead of a 12G295 head it will be real backward step as regards performance.

The 295 will need skimming by 60 thou if used on a 1098 Minor engine - and don't waste money on 'unleaded' - it's not necessary unless pounding hard along fast roads regularly. Do set valve gaps to 15 thou, nad check/reset every 3000 miles.
