Hi all
Can anyone help please. I am at the stage of fitting new handbrake cables.
There are two fixing points. The wheel cylinder end is fine, but has anyone got
A picture/photo of where the other fixing is, either from inside the car or underneath
. When the floor pans were replaced
I lost the fixing hole. This was so long ago I have forgotten where they should be.
I would like to drill the holes in the correct place first time.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ty

Right at the back of the tunnel - down at floor level. It's not exactly critical.......

The subject is covered in the last magazine with pictures that should give you a good idea where the holes are.

Re: Route of handbrake cables
The cable ends pretty much fall into place - nowhere else they can go!

Re: Route of handbrake cables
5.5 inches measured from the very top of the tunnel following the curve, or 11 inches of string would reach from one to the other. About 3/4 inch forwards of the vertical face of the heelboard. On mine the cables, even new, will use 1/2 of the threaded section on the adjuster with new brake components so the further rearwards the little threaded bracket go, the better it would've been. This is a 1949 MM but should be the same floor design. I have the carpets glued down with underlay so a photo would not be very good at showing the positioning.
I'd suggest you try drilling a home there and see how it all works out.

Found a useable pic. Blue arrow shows the hole. The heelboard panel on mine folds forwards and is welded along the edge as part of the strengthening mod so yours ay have a different construction here.
