bonnet catch return spring...any pics!

Post by Budgie »

Having had my tourer for over eight years now ,I was at a fairly local vintage car show recently when it was pointed out to me, "where's your bonnet catch return spring"? I must confess I've never found the need to check on it as all seems to work well when the lever is pulled from inside the car. I have looked in the engine bay and can't seem to see where it should go so my question is has anyone got a pic of the said return spring. Many thanks in advance. :D

Do you mean the one under the catch in the centre of the panel, or the anti-rattle one that attached from the front panel to the tag on the operating rod?

Hmmm from what the gentleman said and by the way he looked at the engine bay ...and by the way the rod "rattles" when shook by hand I presume it's the latter, i.e the anti rattle spring.

Lovely clean engine bay - something to strive for.

But do not search through Google direct, do it through www.ixquick.com - that way your IP address and other Details are not passed on to the spying US American Google conglomerite wanting to know more about you and your Habits.

Is that an alternator I see mounted with the coil on top? Not a good idea to do this I am told.
