does any one know what screws are used to hold the sun visor in place (top corner by windscreen)

Depends on the age of the car/type of sunvisors but if you have a late car with just one screw and a plastic clip at the other end then the one screw is a chrome plated self tapping screw which screws into a speed nut. The screw is countersunk but with a domed head and specific for that purpose. A phone/email around some of the more knowledgeable parts specialists should find you some I'd have thought? I can't think of anywhere else on the car that the same screw is used oddly enough.

It depends on whether you want it to look "right" or simply hold the sunvisor in place. The one pictured is not chrome plated OR a domed head screw. If you want the car to look as original it should be both . That might take a little more searching.
