4dr rear door repair

Post by hobbes »

Has anyone done this repair as I have extensive corrosion at the bottom of both my rear doors and am looking at using both inner and outer repair panels. Any guidance would be very helpful!

I am particularly interested in the order of approaching the repair

Many thanks

Many a guide on here in the Resto section. Use the serarch facility. Perhaps an idea to find another door and either swap it in while you repair your own ? I'm still amazed that no-one has started a 'door repair' business supplying reconditioned doors on exchange. There is such a firm for Mini doors - but they said they were 'too busy' to take on Minor doors.

Here is a short video on door repair, I think its for a 2 door but the principle will be the same.

Thanks. I've seen the repair videos for the 2 doors or front doors but have never seen anything for a rear door. The inner repair panel is quite different. There seems to be some retention of the old metal as it doesn't seem to be a complete replacement but as mine is quite rusted I wanted to get an idea of the specific issues with fitting this panel:[frame]Image[/frame]

If I do end up repairing it then I agree, someone would could make a good business out of repairing door bottoms. Nearly every car i have seen needs some work!
