Getting close to my first 1000 miles in my new Minor and started to notice that at slow speeds when touching the accelerator after lifting off - say in traffic, the first movement is a little jerky. The car accelerates smoothly after that and it does seem that there is a little initial resistance to the movement of the pedal. She is ticking over fine - just fast enough to stop the ignition warning light coming on. Here then are my basic questions. I have oiled the linkage with the carburetor, but should I do something more? Presumably I should periodically disconnect the accelerator cable and oil it right?
Thanks for continuing to help with my basic questions.

Re: Accelerator response
Is there oil in the carburettor dashpot? That can cause hesitation.

Re: Accelerator response
Yes thanks I checked that. There is a slight feel of resistance at the accelerator pedal rather than a flat spot as such.
