Idle too fast twin HS2

Post by froggiemoggie »

Idling at 1500 rpm despite slackening accelerator cable outer, and screwing idle stops right out? Mixture has been checked ok. One possibility, new jets were fitted.

Is the choke fully in and not causing the high idle speed?

Have you got an air leak somewhere around the inlet manifold? Or no vacuum hose fitted?

Is there a screw holding the butterfly valve slightly open.

Already answered elsewhere...... listen to the carbs with a tube, and slacken the joining link so both carbs can independently be adjusted for even 'hiss' on the listening tube. Or do the engine a favour and get a single 1.5" SU on a GOOD inlet manifold for more power and easier 'tuning'. The 'tiny twins' are scarcely any better than a single 1.25" SU......
