Re: Woodwork
Lots of historic stuff on this Mac..and lots of opinions. Osmo oil is well regarded, I've not yet tried it myself. If the car is kept in a well ventilated garage Danish oil will probably be fine but need redoing regularly. Cars left outside, well that's a different thing again. I'd certainly suggest treating the wood with Cuprinol 5 star before you do anything else.
Re: Woodwork
Thanks for that..... Is Cuprinol 5 a clear wood treament ? or would it stop the oil penetrating the wood ? I really have no idea!

Re: Woodwork
Yep the Cuprinol is like water, it soaks right in. Give the wood a few good doses and let it dry out thoroughly before you use the finish of your choice. I like Osmo oil personally.

Re: Woodwork
Thanks
I'll start with the Cuprinol then.

Re: Woodwork
I read the Morris Minor Traveller by Ray Newell and the sections by Steve Foreman of Wooddies was brilliant. They do more wood than anybody so I followed their advice and am very pleased with the results. I think they may help you with a fact sheet if you contact them?
