The photo and links are to illustrate what is deficient from the OPs timing set up.
The photo and links are posted to possibly assist the OP in making a decision as whether to fit the duplex (my preferred choice under the circumstances) or go the full hog and obtain the deficient parts and fit the simplex with tensioner.
As can be seen from the links the total cost of the deficient parts is no small sum so again I would recommend fitting the duplex and be done with it.
As I read it - the rubber rings were supplied as replacements for those fitted to the original Minor cam sprocket which was assumed to have been fitted - upon distmantling the simplex camshaft sprocket (as per the OPs photo) was found to have been fitted which is the reason for the questions and information requested in this thread.

Re: timing chain tensioner
Exactly what I am saying Phil - it has been running with the simplex 'no grooves' sprocket - and it will do again, but very far from ideal and surely noisy. And again as I said - unless you can salvage the parts from a Mini - the Duplex kits seem to have come down in cost and look the better bet.

Re: timing chain tensioner
Thank to you two.
I take note, And I change by duplex when I received.

Re: timing chain tensioner
Yes that duplex set up will fit the bill nicely.
You will still need to purchase the two countersunk screws (Allen headed preferred - link above to Mini Spares).
The kit has the felt and neoprene seal so will fit old and new style timing chain covers - but much better sealing qualities with the neoprene seal fitted timing cover.
The use of the flat plate oil thrower is preferred when fitting the duplex kit.
Do not forget to countersink the two 1/4" front engine plate holes located at the bottom of the plate where it attaches to the front main cap.

Re: timing chain tensioner
My Minor ride without noise and good still with simplex chain.
Maybe change to be sure next dismantling.
cheers

Re: timing chain tensioner
For normal use it's perfectly satisfactory. The chain does wear -and the crank sprocket also wears - renew both and with new rubber rings and it will be fine for many many years.
