Froth in gearbox oil

I have just checked my gearbox oil and there is some froth on the top. It is not like mayonaise, more like a bubbly froth.

Should I change the oil?

Sounds ok - but how did you see it? If the oil hasn't been changed for a while --just do it. Engine oil of course.

try changing it for some new stuff
