Crikey!

Post by bmcecosse »

I think I sold my Traveller far too cheaply - looking at this one..... And how can anyone spend £1500 on a 'reconditioned' cylinder head?? The blob of BluTak holding the glovebox shut is neat. I wonder what the strategically placed cushions and rug are hiding on that rear seat back.... And as usual - no 'underside' pictures, or engine bay , which is where it all really matters - surely? Goes like a Porsche ehhh - perhaps the tail slides out on every corner? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/191850998723

Does seem a bit steep. The rust on the wing looks like it might run a bit deeper. :-?

Lovely shiny front seats though..!

I'm no expert at all but that looks pretty rusty, the wood looks awful...I paid less than that for my '68 Traveller - by no means a pristine car but with rock solid woodwork & bodywork, & a 1275 engine!

The vendor had this on eBay for ages a while back but it didn't sell surprisingly.

and here he or she has provided a helpful link from this very forum,

I looked on the MOT history check and one of the advisories it says several areas of advanced corrosion.

London prices! These cars do seem to go for more down south.

That said, travelers can get pricey these days!

You can be sure if it's got rust on top then it will have rust in the areas you can't see!

Might not be very convient to get to up in Moray but this one looks better for less than half the price.

For the saving in purchase price you could have it transported or have a road trip staying in luxury hotels?

I know someone who spent £500 on having a head gasket done... Was not impressed. Ok head was skimmed (£30) and he had some new valve guides (not all) and valves ground in but as it went exceedingly well beforehand I doubt there was much wrong with it really...
cheers
