Hi All
So, went out to car again this morning and it wont start again!!
I have checked to see if there is spark (as per previous advice and method)
No spark coming from the coil!!
Does anyone know the steps i need to take to check it. i have done the following
Checked the spark plug - No spark
Then checked the rotar arm was going round! It was!
Then checked if there was a spark coming from the Coil to the Cap - No spark.
Changed the lead - no spark.
Checked with another coil that i had - No Spark!!
I am assuming this is an electrical problem, but doing know how to check the power going to the coil!! Seems odd as its a new coil and the old one doesn't work either - so i am thinking it is before this!!
Apologies for being a doofus!

Re: Carb
'New' coils these days are often made in huts in far away places...... but the old coil should be ok. You really do need either a meter or a test lamp to check if there is any power going TO the coil. Can you rig up a test lamp? And a simple meter from maplins/ebay @ ~ £5 is more than enough for Minor work. Don't be conned into something fancy.

Thanks for this - I will nip to maplin and get a meter and a test lamp.
