Leather seat repairs

Post by 936cbpminor »

Hi,
I know that this topic has been commented on in other posts but has anyone repaired splits in leather seats with any success. Are there any recommended kits, tips, or maybe photographs of restoration. The process looks fairly straightforward. I have found the Furniture Clinic offer a repair kit plus a colourant kit. Any help gratefully received.

'Car SOS' have done this a couple of times - not sure just how long the repairs will last in use.

I successfully repaired a split in my seat (less than an inch long) by removing the seat cover and glueing a patch of leather underneath with contact adhesive. Then I recoloured the seat and you can't see its been repaired. It has lasted well for around three years now...........
