I wanted to be sure I have a gauge prior to engine install at the weekend so as well as 2 x smiths combined oil and water gauges I also bought a cheap TIM for under 30 quid.
Here is a video of them side by side should you be wondering if the cheaper TIM is any good. the TIM came with the required 5/8 to 5/8 adaptor which both gauges need as the bulbs are too long to sit in the A series head without this. It also came with lighting whereas both of these items are extras on the Smiths. Both are 52mm and came with mounting hardware.

Hi Al,
I have been running the Tim gauges since Aug 2012 with no issues.

No reason to doubt those Tim gauges but Smiths gear has stood the test of time, so why look elsewhere.

I have the Smiths twin gauge which retails around £95. It has the advantage of only taking the space for one gauge leaving room for another gauge eg ammeter
