Many thanks

It's tax exempt but still has to be MOT'd. You will still have to apply for tax but you don't pay.

And of course - be sure to get good 'Classic Car' insurance - including Roadside and Recovery services.

I've gone with Footman James for Insurance and I have breakdown cover on any car that I'm driving or a passenger in with the AA. They cover any roadworthy vehicle up to 3.5 tonne.

Your FJ insurance should surely have cover for Roadside etc. RH Insurance certainly does. Check carefully on that AA policy - some of them have an 'age limit' hidden in the small print.

I'm afraid to say that I have used the AA many times over the years not only with Minors but also pre war vehicles so can safely say there is no age limit.

That's good - I wasn't specifically targeting the AA - but I do know some have been 'disappointed' when in need of help with some of the Recovery services to find it in the small print.
