Has anyone tried filling these replacement glove boxes?

I had a look at them last night and the inner edge (that goes closest to the speedo) is round rather than flat. Is it just a case of bending the chrome strip into the right shape?
Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: Glove Box
I have got to do this at a later date. When I saw them online I thought the best way to fit them would be to roughly shape them before offering them up to the hole and once in place the hole itself should shape them. Note the plastic edge is longer than needed and will have to be trimmed. Cut them a bit over size and force the corners into shape before fixing with screws. Hope this helps, keep us informed how you get on fitting them and I will take notes for when I do it. Good luck.

I may try fitting them at the weekend. I'll let you know how I get on.

Another thing I thought of was they are prone to water from the wiper drive shafts leaking so was going to treat mine to a couple of coats of clear lacquer on the outside surface before fitting. Being made of compressed cardboard it might make them last a bit better.

Re: Glove Box
Didnt get round to this at the weekend. I did get both doors and rear 1/4 panels repainted, both 1/4 light windows in - that was a job and a half for the first at least - the sill covers and finishers fitted and some underlay cut and fitted.
My list is getting smaller. On target for completion (with the exception of the interior) by the end of the month/beginning of April - Woo Who!
