Thanks for your answers!!
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

OK - a show he's not ... I appreciate him as an expert. And here are also experts - and I am just a beginner. So just different opinions from different experts!! I can only learn from that all!

At thuestday the tool should arrieve and then I will try the honing. Can I use cutting oil for it?
Then I want to buy lap strip ( what I need to have to polish the parts)and clean the crankshaft and camshaft so / smooth

Then we will have the last look - maybe its better and I can go on - only with the order of the then necessary spare parts

Now - I will take "my engine" with me into my bed

Thanks for all

Dirk

I'm not sure what 'lap-strip' is - although I can guess..... You want extremely fine (2000 grit or even more) abrasive paper (known as 'crocus' over here) and polish with a little olive oil on the paper. I wouldn't touch the crankshaft at all - just clear the oil ways. Seriously - you can re-assemble this engine for not much cost and it will run well enough - even if that is just to allow you to assess / rebuild your own engine.

I think the piston the original ones because the measure 64,5 mm (caliper gauge) und the cylinders are never be bored ...

I´m thinking about all the words from yesterday and and the result is that I will try to rescue the old engine
First to the honing tomorrow and I will show the pictures at night

Question for the use of the tool:
at what speed the cordless screwdriver and moving slowly or quickly? Can I use drilling oil for honing?

Cheers

I think you will need more of an electric drill - rather than a screwdiver to spin the hone. Oil/kerosene mix should be fine for lub - just don't do it dry!

Kerosene :o I have currently no aircraft available! Where I can buy it ...

A drill - ok - A drill - because of the power and not because of the speed? But what speed drilling and what moving?

You will find that 'white spirit' sold for paint brush cleaning etc is probably 'kerosene' .

Now I know what kerosine is ~ we call it Petrolium. You can use it for camping cooker or for outdoor lights or "Verdünnung" to clean paint brushes. That must be the stuff - ok.

Kerosene - also known as paraffin here in the UK.

Yes - not quite the same but I do not know what paraffin is described as/called in Germany and kerosene in near enough and universally known.

As an aside and In reference to aircraft above and kerosene - I got drenched in the stuff whist inspecting the railway track at Bedale in Wensleydale in the early 1990s from an aircraft taking off from RAF Leeming. Tastes horrible. :(

Hi there :D

Just done the glazing/honing and for me it looks much better. I made 25 x strokes and 8 runs means 200 strokes every cylinder. What do you thinks is it better or even ok ? Or should I try again? I'm curious!

Bye

Well done :D
Looking good but still some way to go.
Keep going -make sure that the stones of the hone do not get dry - plenty of lubricant means a better finish.

ok - go back - down into the gararge ... keep on honing

I mixed Engine Oil & Petroleum (50%/50%) for honing!

I advise against using petrol - the petrol is washing out the lubricant and that is why you are getting those radial scores in the bores.
If you cannot get paraffin/Kerosene use the lightest grade oil that you have or even WD 40 mixed with the engine oil.

Petroleum is not petrol. Petroleum is lamp oil

But it does look 'rough' - did the hone only come with one set of stones? I think you need some 'fine' stones to finish it off. I think as it stands now it would damage new rings.

A slight misunderstanding in the terminology here me thinks.
Here in the UK petroleum is better known as petrol.
Kerosene is distilled from petroleum and is also known as lamp oil or paraffin.
If you had mentioned Kerosene / Lamp oil or paraffin oil I would have understood better.
Anyway no matter - but further honing is still required.
