gearbox bush

help required .how is the sliding joint bush removed from rear of gearbox control assembly. the one the propshaft runs in.

Geoff,
It's an interference fit. You will need to chisel it off carefully. Can be difficult due to access issues when the gearbox is in the car-but doable. It has a lip seal and a felt seal-see pic.

To replace the bush Pt No: 2A3325 (MOSS) you will have to remove the gearbox from the car and remove the rear extension Pt No: 2A3367 (MOSS) from the main gearbox assy.
Carefully split the bush and press or knock out the bush.
Press in the new bush being careful not to crack the extension casing.
The new bush may need reaming to suit the prop-shaft.
Fit a new rear seal Pt No: 2A3061and re-assemble the gearbox and fit gearbox assy to car.
Personally I would not bother fitting a new bush but fit a good S/H rear extension or even a good S/H gearbox as if that rear bush is so worn to need replacement there is a good possibility that the rest of the gearbox is worn as well.

Pretty much as above - try new seals first! Much easier than battling with that bush....

I have new oil seal, was going to replace bush as gearbox was out of car,dont think I will bother now as not that bad. trying to make 1 good box out of 2. is it possible to remove reverse gear without stripping down box.

I thought that would be the case,i was just hoping against all hope that I could.
will use best gearbox of the 2 and strip down the other to play with when I have time (never)
