Hi Everyone,
My question is how effective is cleaning the chrome wheel hubs with ..wait for it " aluminium foil and coke or pepsi if you prefer? I have been researching chrome cleaners, and came across people who claim rubbing the chrome with the matt side of alu foil, coke and elbow grease does the job !
Has anyone tried this?
Regards
Andy

Sounds good to me. Also consider wd40 that's a good metal cleaner. Tho not if your gonna be painting.

Re: Wheel Hub Cleaning
For serious rust removal use Brasso and wire wool.
Make sure that you use the Brasso for polishing and the Coke for drinking

Most hub caps these days are stainless - the chrome ones having gone west a long time ago. Just polish with Autosol. I would not use wire wool...

Thanks, everyone. I will try this alternative method and Autosol, and picture the results when finished.

Re: Wheel Hub Cleaning
If you have stubborn rust patches then a scouring pad works well.
I have just been given a sorry looking front bumper blade and after a preliminary clean with Brasso and aforementioned scouring pad it is looking quite presentable
