Trafficators yet again

Post by MrIan »

Hi all. Has anyone got a picture of the full assembly of a trafficator for a 2 door Minor, inc shields and mountings ?
Thinking of reinstating Boris Minors arms !!!!!!!!
A previous owner that restored the car had them removed and the holes in the body covered over, but now as remedial work is needed on that panel i'm thinking of getting trafficators back in.
Thanks in advance.

So you need a pair of these guards to help stop the rain getting in

Do you have the switch and bracket?

So the trafficator unit doesn't sit in a full case as such? just the rear 'strap' then a plate either side?
I take it this would need to be sealed also.
My plan if I do manage to get some is to use a control relay to handle the current of the trafficator but then also add the 'flashing' festoon LED lamp. It'll just operate via the column switch but will have an overide to drop the trafficator if the same door is opened.

You only need one guard for each side of the car. It basically stops rain and wind noise coming in. They could be made quite easily from a bit of flat steel if you have a template, obviously thats what the guy on ebay has done because they can make a good price when they come up for sale.

If you use 2 flasher units you can have them work with the indicators without the power being interrupted to the trafficator every time it flashes.

Have a look here!! Trafficator appreciation Society on facebook!!
