Front Wings
Sorry if it's been asked before but on a Morris Minor original front wing is there a join on the front face of the wing outside of the headlight that runs curved down to the base of the wing? or is this joint only on copy panels ?

Re: Front Wings
More pronounced it is, cra**ier they are - think the last new one I bought seemed to be copied from an accident victim!MrIan wrote:Sorry if it's been asked before but on a Morris Minor original front wing is there a join on the front face of the wing outside of the headlight that runs curved down to the base of the wing? or is this joint only on copy panels ?
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Re: Front Wings
The join was always there on original wings because it would be impossible to manufacture the wing from a single piece of steel. However, on the original wings the join was finished off so as to be invisible from the outside. A good restorer will carry out this process on a replacement wing prior to painting.
"Heritage" replacement wings AND the cheaper "pattern" wings both display this join.

Ok cheers. It's a shame if the herritage wings have the join visible too. So I might as well just sort what I have on (rusted where the join is).
