Oh dear - a relatively recently reissued 'age related' plate. So someones presumably pulled a fast one getting the car MOt'd to transfer the original plate, and then added to the greediness by trying to flog the new reissued number which is worthless unless you're wanting to ring a stolen car....
Marvelous
cheers

If you have a 1960 car with no documentation buying a late '56 car's documents means that you can avoid the annual MOT test and save your self money. It also means that in future there will be vehicles on our roads that are moving death traps!

THIS is the reason why DVLA have clamped down on V765 applications.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Good! In my opinion the worst thing they did was to scrap the MOT for pre 1960 cars. So many people are now pulling vehicles from barns and driving them home! OK until they have an accident. An MOT test is a very good check for steering/brakes/corrosion etc. Personally I would prefer it if any vehicle that has not been on the road for 3 years to have an MOT before being allowed on the road just to check it's roadworthiness.

Is it really that easy ? just go and buy earlier documents to change the identity of a vehicle?
