Question about traveller under door bottom repair
Bottom of the drivers door is rotted out,i have the repair panels here.I cut out the old sections but inside theres a strengthening double skin part?Should this be plug welded through to my door bottom plate? It needs a fair pulling in with clamps for my plate to meet this inner skin part but i dont think its impossible?

100 people who have something to do with minors have read this and dont know what im talking about??Even the guy on youtube video fitting the door bottom doesnt mention the inner door bracket/skin/reinforcer.
Should the lower under door panel be plug welded through to it?

Probably the best way to confirm if it was welded or not would be to examine the the old panel for signs of a factory type spot weld. These usually look like little dimples.

Is there one on the passenger side that you can compare it to?

The guy showing you how to do it on youtube doesnt mention it at all.
Even when you see other images of door bottoms that have been repaired they never seem to have tacked through onto this skin reinforcing piece?

A bit late, but...
On the underside, about 18 inches aft of the bottom hinge there is a line of 3 spot welds running outwards towards the lip of the door skin plus another line running forwards to the base of the hinge area. This holds the diagonal bracing structure that begins half way between the hinges, if that makes sense.
