Whose Clever?
Got a traveller and im a new boy to car mechanics!!! 1098cc
I cant get car to start, it turns over, but just will not start!
Firstly I got fixed my fuel pump, but is it supposed to stay on all the time??
Right i changed the points and the plugs. I did firing order 1,3,4,2, anticlockwise right??
As for the points, ive got to adjust them onto 015, i was told to just rock the car till the points open and the crank shaft is in right position, is there any easy ways?
Now do get a spark at the distributor although not sure i definately got points right! Havent checked spark at plugs!
Help any ideas on things to check would be great! Anything I could be obviously missing!?

You rock the engine( is that what it is called????) by using you starting handle. I have 0.4mm set on mine though, as stated in the holy Haynes

just use thesarter handel, insert it in the hole in the front, and slowly crank until you reach the highest point on the cam. Dead easy on a mog!

Firstly u want to get hold of a starting handle. Normally they're lying around in the boot somewhere, but if not then they are not expensive (about £5 to £10 second hand)I dont seem to have a crank arm anywhere, and what about all the other things ive written?
Then check for a spark at the plugs, and finally check that rotor arm is pointing towards #1 spark plug lead when engine is at TDC and #1 piston is at top of compression stroke (put your finger lightly over the spark plug hole and turn the engine using the starting handle - it will push air past your finger on the compression stroke.)
The petrol pump should tick maybe every 10 to 30 seconds when the engine is not running. It will tick more when you are cranking as you start to use fuel and should tick approx every 5 to 10 seconds when the engine is running at idle.
