Front suspension - swivel pin

Post by Leyland »

Hi everyone
I am just reassembling the front suspension. Every thing new.
I understand that it is necessary to to give the swivel pin link an end float of .002
Is this end float on the taper side or the top trunnions bushes.
I may be a bit confused but I don't understand how this is done on the taper side.
The pin locks up tight on the taper of the suspension arm and I have fitted a castellated nut and split pin.
Advice please I am at a loss where I measure this.
Thanks

Hi

I think you are confusing the early type top links without rubber bushes. There's no need to measure clearances with the rubber bush type ...read on further in the manual..?

As above -no clearances - be sure to use polyurethane bushes !
