Yes I'll be setting mine up soon, am I right in assuming the battery will need to be fully charged to start with?
I'm thinking a solar charger will only maintain a charged battery.

That's right Les, if you have the £10 one it only gives a slight trickle charge so it won't recharge a flat or even semi flat battery, the output is very low. Give it a good charge first then connect the solar one to keep it charged.

The solar trickles in a charge - it will get there eventually, but don't expect it to recharge a 'flat' battery overnight! That's not what it's intended for - it is just intended to maintain a standing battery.
