Hello To You All

Post by Midnatsol »

I am new to the Club and would just like to introduce myself. My first name is Julie, and I live in Tamworth Staffordshire. Myself, and my Husband Paul started our affairs with Morris Minors a few years back. At present we have Bluebell a 1968 Convertible that started life as a Saloon and was converted some years ago by a previous Owner.
We like to go out in Bluebell when ever we can, it just puts that big Smile on your Face. our last time out in her was to Dovedale. A nice Sunny Day, beautiful Countryside and a Picnic...What more could you ask for. :D

We are now looking for an original Convertible late 50's early 60's..We have contacted a Member who may have, just what we think we are looking for. Just waiting on a reply, and fix up a viewing time and date.

We are also looking to find were I can purchase chrome strips that go up the side of frond door window across the top and the quarter light..
looking for new rubbers that go in-between the bumpers. New Rubber Door seals for Bluebell.

Any Help Advice would truly be appreciated.

Again, Hello to you all, I hope to get to know some of you a little better over time.

Have a pleasant Day

Kind Regards
Julie & Paul

Welcome! Do you mean these?
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=stain ... PnbUWKs%3D

(sorry about the large photo couldn't find any other pictures) If these are what you are looking for put a request in the Wanted section for "stainless steel door tops 2dr"- (which will fit convertible) They are for sale on here quite often. Only available second hand.

The rubbers are all available from Birmingham Morris Minor Centre, ESM, Bull Motif or Charles Ware They all have useful websites which will give you the part number you require to order and all do mail order.

Hi ASL642
Thank you for your reply

Yes they are what I am looking for, and I have put a New Request on Wanted..

Also thank you for the information on the Rubbers..Birmingham is not far for me.. :D

I have contacted a Member orb596...Laurie who is selling a 1961 original morris minor, but it seems to be taking ages to try and setup a time and date to view it...Do some Members not come on line very often, even though they have their Cars up for Sale..

Thank You

Hello Julie and Paul, we're next door to you in Derbyshire. Although the club is based in Derby it's not the centre of the world for Minors! Just give us a shout if you need any low tech support. We have a 'bluebell' too, '61 two door saloon. Not as desirable as a convertible but arguably more practical!

At the moment I am trying to find a good spray shop with a low bake oven..Think it is time for Bluebell to have a New Coat.. :D

Kind Regards

And hello to you all too.(the two of you plus the car). 2016 is the 40th anniversary of the MMOC and there will be a rally held at Catton Hall which is south of Burton-on-Trent, some fifteen miles from you just off the A38. This will be held on 2/3 of July, so be there!
