I recently purchased a Morris Minor Pick up (aprox 1964) but no registration number. I filled out the paperwork with the chassis number and sent it to the DVLA. This Morning I received the paperwork back from the DVLA saying that they have no record of the vehicle. I am not concerned that I do not get the original number back a non sale age related number will do. They have sent me a V765 and a V55 forms to complete. The V765 form needs to be completed by some one in the club. Is there any one near Widnes cheshire who could do this?
I also have the Black 4 door in the background.
Or is there anything else that I need to do[frame][/frame]
The person to contact in the club is Rob Thomasson, the Technical Tips guy. He has a good relationship with the DVLA as he has dealt with a lot of these queries for club members. His contact details are in Minor Matters.
Does any member have EVERY Minor Matters from year dot?
Kind enough to look through magazines to see whether there are ANY 1964 pickups mentioned - we need possible registration numbers to enable us to investigate MVL records and ultimetly approach DVLA with evidence!
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
Try Liz at MMOC HQ Derby - they have every copy in the archives. They may even know whether there is a '64 vehicle owned by a member who could shed more light on pickup history. Worth a 'phone call?
Thanks Lou, Chassis plate was in the glove box when bought - thankfully cab number untouched, confirming the pickup is genuine - example of how important it is to record ALL details.
