Traveller Head liner

Post by GPO_Van »

My question is specific to the rear of the front section of headliner, the rear piece of headliner is in.
The front piece is in with wire pulled tight, but even with 2 of us we could not pull the material tight and fit the angled piece of wood, we tried initially holding in place with tacks but the material just pulled over the heads leaving little holes.
I have read the brilliant piece by Newton commercial, that was a great help, but it did not mention this last stage.

The material needs to be folded to at least double thickness before tacking. At this stage it should be "almost tight", the final stretching is achieved when fitting the angled piece. Are you trying to make it too tight?

I most probably am trying to make it too tight, it takes a real hard pull to get the wrinkles out!
