Keeps blowing 5amp fuses!

Post by Oldmogman »

Does anybody know why my Mog keeps blowing 5amp fuses?

(This is the in-line fuse, separate from the main fusebox.)

The fuse blows as soon as I fit a new one!

The car runs a dynamo, is converted to negative earth and normally never blows fuses

Suggetions?

Forgot to say, headlights, indicators and wipers work fine - but obviously no sidelights or dash lights...

There is a short somewhere in the wiring or switchgear.
Disconnect bits until you find the culprit.

It shouldn't blow till you switch on the side lights! As above - there must be a short.... Disconnect the (red) wire to the rear lights - and switch off the speedo illumination. Rather than blow fuses all the time - ring it out with a meter... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-OHM-AC-DC ... 2ca0e3618d
