One stumbled upon these things on eBay, im guessing these go in place of the piping, might be of interest to the headlight peaks and badge bar brigade.

These are interior trim pieces for earlier 4 door saloons, not a replacement for the exterior wing piping.

These are very rare indeed being for a early 1000 4door traveller, I've never seen one

It wasn't a period accessory. They are fitted to all 4 doors models. It is to keep the rear door seals in place around the wheel arch, as people getting in and out would pull them off.
