Fitting 'buddy seats' in van/pick-up

Post by Tim M »

Hi

Has anyone on the forum fitted additional seats in the back of a van or pick-up? I was thinking of doing this in the future to take my kids down the road to feed our pigs! :D

I have seen buddy seats fitted in campers and the like and don't cause problems. Perhaps a sideways bench over the rear wheel like a mini-landrover that could bolt in and out when not needed.

Any thoughts... :D

All the best

You could probably knock up a wooden affair to sit over the arches but most kids just like to jump in the back, hang on and enjoy the ride! Well I know I did! :D

I saw a fold down conversion once in a van with side windows. The front plywood floor was hinged and the seat came up out from there and a foot well had been made in the void below between the chassis rails. Very neat and folds away quickly.

I cant find a pic of a minor but here is the sort of idea on an A35[frame]Image[/frame]

That is a tidy idea. If I had lots of time, I might have done something like that.
