fuel starvation

Post by cococola »

I currently have no fuel coming through from the fuel tank to the pump, If I use a fuel can direct to the pump it all works fine and when I reconnect to the tank again there is no fuel coming through.
Can anybody advise me please.

Fuel line flattened ? Low petrol level ? Rust in tank blocking exit ? Fuel cap vent blocked ?

Blocked pickup pipe filter in the tank. light air pressure from a foot pump blowing back down the pipe can sometimes eventually clear it.

I used my airline and gently blew the fuel pipe to the tank and the problem appears to be ok now, I'm just wondering weather its worth fitting an inline fuel filter?

NO!!!! Don't fit a filter.....only leads to 'vapour locking' as the pump struggles with the extra resistance.

lift out the fuel sender in the tank and check for rust or dirt or water in the tank.
inline filter will not stop the problem if the problem is in the tank.
as bmc says inline filter not needed
