Vw polo 1.4 16v engine ??

Hi all hope someone can help me with this as I don't know myself as Im only 16 and doing up my Moggy,anyway my sister has offerd me a Vw polo 1.4 16v engine and I was wondering if it would fit straight in . If not what would I have to do to make it fit hope you can help best regards Carl

I think you can't be pretty sure it won't drop straight in! I had a feeling the gearbox is on the side being front wheel drive. The Minor is rear wheel. If you're on a learning curve, stick to the original car and modify things later.
