Re: Oil leak
Check its not the tappet cover gasket. These can leak due to being overtightened and crushed.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Re: Oil leak
Use the search facility! The problem is almost certainly excessive pressure in the crankcase - hot engine, idling - remove the oil filler cap and rev up - is there a plume of smoke/fume? Check the rocker cover breather pipe is clear - running in to the air cleaner casing. Short term answer is to get the later cam follower cover with a tin can 'catch pot' pointing upwards - and run the breather from that to the port on the side of a later model SU carb. This will suck away the fumes and the oil will drip back into the engine. Long term answer is probably to overhaul the engine....

Re: Oil leak
It looks like there should be a hole between the cam follwers that oil should drain into the sump through, I'd check that it isn't blocked by something first.
I'd expect more oil to be coming out of the rear seal then dripping out of the gearbox wiggle pin if the engine is badly worn.
Are you topping the oil up to the full mark on the dip stick constantly?
If so just keep it between the marks, being full doesn't seem to suit some engines.

Re: Oil leak
Hi
The engine was totally rebuilt. Where can I source the cover with a tin can 'catch pot' pointing upward?
I did check the pie and it is clean.
