how to fir return springs rear brake shoes
Advice needed- my dad is struggling to remember how to replace rear brake shoes- especially with regards to the return springs. It's v fiddly- what is the best way to do it?? Lots of cursing currently going on!!! Thank you
Re: how to fir return springs rear brake shoes
It's usually easy to get the end without the adjuster located with a spring in place, then locate the other end of one shoe and fit the other spring in it's holes. It's then a matter of levering the remaining end of the shoe into place with a screwdriver then, with a bit more levering. put the adjuster into place between the end of the shoe and the wheel cylinder. Mind your fingers

As above - not difficult - no cursing required. Heavy spring first at the non-cylinder end - then the light spring, and then slip the adjuster in.

use small hook for insert 2nd spring at finaly - the hook insert from dram hole and catch the spring then pull down then you can set 2nd spring end -
