Highly recommended mod.

Post by viewsonic1 »

Hi all. I posted a question last month and I got some very helpful replies. Thank-you all so much. The subject being door mirrors, a modification to supplement the wing mirrors on my 1967 four door saloon. As my journey to work involves joining a busy dual-carriageway using a slip road, trying to enter the heavy traffic was a nightmare as rear vision was restricted. But now I have fitted the door mirror, a doddle to do thanks to the replies on this forum, I can join the carriageway with ease and confidence. This is a modification I can highly recommend.
Thanks again.

Don't get over confident, there is always a blind spot. Look over your shoulder

Thanks, Mike. That's an action I've ommited from my post. It's stood me in good stead for the last 42 years, both joining the carriageway and overtaking. No driver should be over confident.

I have done this after finding my rear view not so good after driving a modern, and I would normally say at this point I have not looked back but in this case I am only too glad to. The view is so much better and accurate than wing mirrors.
