Does anyone have any recommendations for a courier firm that can collect an engine from another address and deliver to my address. I've looked at a few online and there seems to be various restrictions. Some want it palleted and stackable ready to go, others won't touch engines because of oil leaks etc. etc.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Steve
Hi,
I hired a van on the couple of occasions I have needed to fetch an engine.
I am lucky enough to have a local firm not far from me who do cheap van hire, they have a fleet of less than perfect bodywork wise vans (but perfectly serviceable I might add) which they hire out at a very reasonable rate and no worries about excessive bills if you acquire a couple of stone chips (like a lot of hire companies threaten you with these days - or you pay extra just in case, as I've found..... )
This means you get the engine straight away and don't have the hassle of organizing postage - if you can find a firm that will do the job.
If you don't have an engine crane then two people can man-handle an A series engine easily. You will just need a pallet to put it on.
Best wishes,
Mike.

1952 Morris Minor MM highlight with sidevalve engine still fitted, wants work, so joins the queue for now......
Thanks guys. It needs to go from Lanarkshire to Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex or thereabouts. I've posted on the morris minor owners forum and have a kind offer to get it to Pateley Bridge at their meet, which is getting closer.
I'll happily reimburse or redistribute courier fees accordingly.
