The traveller i have just bought has front seats from an austin mg metro.Inhave sourced a newly recovered full set of seats, door cards etc.Looking at the floor with the mg seats in they are bolted to a raised frame on the floor, but looking at the base of the original seats theres just two tubular bars?
How do they fix to the floor?I have a feeling im going to take the mg seats out and im going to be missing something?
How do 65 traveller seats fit on the floor?

the seats are held in place by two, two part clamps
on the floor you have (TRM807 at ESM in case the link does not work)
http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... 21203e4dc0
them these clamps that go over the top of the rail (TRM806 )

I would keep the MG seats in, they will be far more comfortable. The MG seats will be fitted to an adapter plate which normally fits to two original threaded holes in the floor at the front and two extra holes at the back. If you lift the carpets you will find two rows of holes at the front of each seat. The Minor seats are only secured at the front with a bracket at each side, the row of holes give a choice of forward/rear position, only the driver's seat is adjustable.
To fit the seats you will need for each seat two brackets to fit over the front bar of the seat, two thin floor plates and four 1/4 Whit head bolts. Use a short cross point screwdriver to pass through the hole in the bracket over the seat bar, through the hole in the thin plate which fits under the seat bar, through the carpet and locate the threaded hole in the floor. You can now fit a bolt through the other hole in the bracket etc, and screw into the floor. Remove the screwdriver and fit the other bolt.

A bit late to keep mg seats,i've bought a newly recovered complete original interior!Seats are comfortable but they just stick out like a sore thumb surround by 50 year old stuff!!
Just looks like the rails have been welded to the floor, looks like they've always been there in a funny way, very neatly welded in.I've just stuck the seats on Ebay,so somebody else can get comfy!!
