Door check straps

Post by biomed32uk »

The door check straps on my front doors seem to flap around where they go into the door, there is a rubber buffer inside the door on the strap but where they go through the door there is just a metal edge of a 1" or so hole, looks like something is missing.

Does anyone know what should be there please.

That sounds about right. I put some plastic tubing over the rod to stop it rattling against the door, but it doesn't usually make contact anyway.

Should be a large grommet fitted in the door to prevent contact.
