dip switch cover

Post by pethndrsn »

Hi ! I have just adopted my moggy '59 two door and we are getting acquainted ! The cover on the dip switch has come off ! It has a small hole in the top . Can this be screwed back on? Should there be a spacer behind it ? How do I refit it to enable the switch to work - help! I have already been through the initiation ceremony ( water pump, thermostat +housing and fanbelt) and I'm wearing the grease under my nails with pride !! Peter

Chances are the dipswitch is worn anyway so you may as well buy a new one and play with the old one at your leisure. Make sure that you get the correct switch for your car

It's just a cover! Check the switch works - then refit the cover.....

Thanks for the info . Searching round the cars interior I found a spring which I presume is the switch cover return spring but I can't find a cross section photo / diagram of the whole switch to show me what could be the missing part to activate the actual switch when you push on the outer part off the dip switch if that is how it works!
