New moggy look!
So I painted the cream wheels almond green same as the car along with the grill, I didn't know which would look better a rectangle or circle shape on the doors like the old historic racers, attention to detail on the sticker is a bit pants as I couldn't get it on properly due to the obese wings but I'm happy with it, hope you all like![frame]

Re: New moggy look!
Without wanting to spoil the party, the rectangle not being parallel, at the top, with the raised profile of the door would irritate the hell out of me!
----unless of course it's only temporary to see how it compares with a circle.

Circle for racers, Square for Ralliers.
I would do a square, with the trailing edge in line with the furtherest forward bit of the door handle.

I liked the thought process, the idea, just not the finished article. As has been said I'd (IMO) have to have it all lined up and square

Re: New moggy look!
Thanks everyone, yes I totally agree it isn't very straight and parallel with the body, but in fact I attempted sticking them myself which I have no experience doing, it was a bugger getting it over the bodywork hence why it doesn't look equal, thought it was worth a shot but I'm considering the circles now but will leave the professionals to do it
for now tho I think it looks cool as fu*k
cheers.

Re: New moggy look!
If it is peel-off, stick-on vinyl off a roll, you can spray the sticky side (once peeled off the backing paper) with water and a bit of washing up liquid added. It can then be positioned more accurately, a bit like wallpaper once it has been pasted. Make sure the door panel is clean and dust free and once you are happy how it is positioned, use a squeegee to flatten it to the surface and to extract excess water. We used this method when I worked in Sign Making.

Re: New moggy look!
Circle on door, or split door and rear section?
Re: New moggy look!
What's the point ??? If you are going racing (
) then you won't want heavy over-riders - or bumpers for that matter -and the reg plate would be 'stick-on' on the bonnet...........

Re: New moggy look!
But does the car go like a rally car
Re: New moggy look!
Why not? I want it to look like an old racer...
I'm soon building a race engine and will do a couple hillclimbs and track days.. this is just the beginning

And yes the car is slightly modified, has had a fresh engine rebuild and slight weightloss, for a 1098 is surprisingly quick and loves going sideways in the wet

Re: New moggy look!
Your car reminds me of when I first started using my Minor in motorsport in the late 1960s.
It is your car so do what you want with it but before you go wildly modifying it get a copy of the MSA regulations (Blue Book) as it will tell you what you can and cannot do and what is required of/for both you and the car before you even set foot/tyre on a motorsport venue.
My first club motorsport event which was a driving test a week after purchasing the Minor and which resulted in the steering wheel being bent which was replaced with a Motolita wood rimmed wheel and which started the journey down the slippery slope of modifications to the car.[frame]

Re: New moggy look!
A traveller probably isn't the best starting point for a competition car (!) but it was a road car/rally car/autotest car all rolled into one at the time and great fun too
If you enjoy yours as much as I enjoyed mine it'll all be well worthwhile
