Yes, the Sierra 5-speed type 9 'box is a popular one for the Minor (I have one).
Alec, yes of course the 1275 Marina needs certain BOLT ON parts and I agree this does need stating for completeness. However I meant that there is no cutting and welding needed for fitmment and it's all spanner work which is what Terry wants.

Cam never specified 'marina'. My van had a 1275 Midget engine fitted without buying special parts (using the frontplate from the old 1098 engine and keeping the less than ideal midget clutch).just to make the point that you need to buy certain parts to fit a 1275
very true - unless you slot the gearbox in the bin (best thing for it really) and use a midget 1275 gearbox (or do it properly using a ford type 9 box however that involves expensive special parts)as a 1275 Marina engine and gearbox is not a 'slot in job'
