Dizzy help !!!!
Fitted a new accu electronic dizzy today black wire to earth on the coil and red to positive as stated but can't get the car to start neither can I get a spark on any if the leads could the coil be faulty can I test this with a multimeter? Also mine is neg earth and doesn't have a ballast ignition

So what wires do you have on the coil? White and the red on + and just the black on neg?

I had a red to the pos a white to the neg and a black and white to the old dizzy

If the coil was working before you fitted the electronic gizmo, then it's not likely to have failed - not impossible, just unlikely. Do you know if the electronic unit is OK? Also, electronic units need the dizzy rotating quite fast to check for a spark, you cannot just rotate the cam slowly.

To prove if the new distributor is faulty put the old one back in and does it start?

It's NEVER the coil......oh dear......
you sure you have it timed correctly and leads on right order? Is the rotor arm sitting exactly as it was on the old dizzy - ie pointing to the same cap connection when you fitted it? Your old dizzy may have been 180 degrees out, so when you fit the new one -it's correct, but the leads are wrong for the new correct orientation.

You say that you can't get a spark on any plug which means that the distributor is either wired wrong or faulty. You'd still be able to get a spark if the timing was out, it just wouldn't run. Did you make sure you wired the unit the correct way round? After hearing lots of horror stories about units being instantly fried, when I fitted mine I checked each point with a multimeter to make absolutely sure I wasn't wiring it the wrong way round.
I did initially fit mine 180 degrees out and it made some horrible backfiring noises when I tried to start it!

Sorry we aint all pro like you! Put my old dizzy in and started no problem think il have to buy a new electronic module and start again

Think I best start again I now have it running on the points dizzy this is my wiring on the coil I have a white wire from my loom to the neg side and a red wire to the pos side and only one black and white lead to my dizzy to start a fresh where do I have to connect the new dizzy wires to and what ones do I need to remove?

If your car is the original +ve earth then you need a +ve earth electronic unit. If the car has been converted to -ve earth then you need a -ve earth unit. They are not interchangeable. The unit should have been supplied with proper fitting instructions, in which the correct wiring should be shown. If the unit is the correct earth and has been fitted correctly, and still does not work, then send it back for replacement.

I say again - surely if it's a complete replacement dizzy - it MUST come with instructions. I suggest you ask Accuspark.... But if you have connected it wrongly it's probably ruined. You still don't say - IS THE ROTOR ARM IN THE SAME position when you fit the new dizzy ?

Yeah same place I just connected the black wire to the neg side and red to pos and the old black and white old dizzy wire also to the pos on the coil also

No wonder it doesn't run then . Is this EXACTLY what Accuspark told you to do ? Normally the white/black wire runs from the -ve connection on the coil to the dizzy..... The power feed being the white wire to the +ve connection on the coil. However I don't know about the Accuspark dizzy - what do the instructions say ??? What wires came attached to the dizzy ? I imagine there will be a power feed (your red wire?) which will go to the coil +ve along with the existing white wire, and another wire which will replace the white/black wire (which you discard with the old dizzy) going to the coil -ve terminal...... Is that what you have ?

I was told to take the black and white wire out totally connect the white from the neg to the pos of the coil then connect the black from the new dizzy to the neg of the coil and the red from the dizzy to the pos of the coil
The instructions say nothing about the black and white wire until rang them today and he told me so now iam thinking I have prob fried the module and need to buy another

Your description in your last post sounds correct.
Connect the white wire from the ignition switch to the +ve terminal on the coil, also connect the red wire from the Accuspark module to the same +ve terminal on the coil. Then connect the black wire from the Accuspark to the -ve terminal on the coil. Discard the old white/black lead - it has no use in your new set up.
Does your coil have +ve and -ve terminals or the original SW and CB ones?
Just to be sure, have you fitted a complete new distributor, or just the Accuspark electronic module to your existing distributor?
