which is the best? any problems fitting one?
also is it worth the effort?

My 3.7 is excellent with warmed up 1098 engine. Slots straight in - and a 1249 tpm Mini speedo is dead accurate. A LOT less expense and hassle than an expensive 5 speed box.... :D

Pretty certain that Wolseley is 3.9 (same as 1275 Midget), and Riley is 3.7 (same as 1500 Midget).

I find a 3.9 is great with a decent standard 1098.
