Car Starts first time after 8 Years + Brake Hose Query

Finally fitted the exhaust and tried to start the engine with some petrol in the float chamber, despite the carb being stripped and rebuilt,the timing probably out miles etc, the engine started first time, sounded OK too. My 8 year restoration is getting nearer to completion! Next job radiator back on with Grille & line up wings. Well chuffed with progress!!

Have fitted a Servo, Discs but have the standard flexible brake hoses, was going to fit some HEL ones but they didn't fit so I sent them back! Anybody got Goodridge Hoses or others? Any recommendations on what to buy

Excellent, really satisfying when that happens
Have you thought about wider wheels and tyres? It's all well and good fitting more efficient brakes but it just makes it easier to lock up the skinny 145's You need more rubber on the road to allow the brakes to work to their potential and help stop quicker.
