Welcome to the messageboard!
AOI is an old Belfast Registration first used from April 1969. One of our Northern Ireland branch members has recently got a local reg post office van to restore though I dont know the number plate. Any post office van is pretty unusual these days but especially a Northern Ireland one.
The branch is having a meeting on Thursday night at the McKee Clock Carpark in Bangor, (weather permitting) if you live anywhere near by come along about 8pm, we also have regular meeting and runs out all over the province.

hi david i was talking to you at shanes castle.i was in the green GPO van. you had the traveller. i got the van on saturday but not a pretty sight. i really need a chassis as my front end has caved in and the rest is rotton. it came from dungannon. then to hillsborough. now here. taxbook supplied but first owner was a bloke ferguson. date of first reg 7/4/1970. so i take it the gpo handed the logbooks in and issued a new one to new owner. there is another red van in belfast and reg is BOI. 1971

Hi Barry, I will ask around about a chassis. There was one in Fermanagh a short time ago that was very solid but had been cut in 2 for storage. Will see what i can find out.

Fair amount suffered riot damage during the "troubles".
Some also dared recount Catholic jokes to Ian Paisley, doomed....
